How to use the matte finish
I am a paper crafter (not scrapbooker) who uses Mod Podge by the gallon. This stuff can be used for adhesion, sealing, decoupage, and applying dimensional textures to a certain extent. After using Mod Podge for many years, the matte finish in the yellow bottle has become my favorite, although all Mod Podge products are great and come recommended by me. The trick is to know which finish of Mod Podge to use for your needs. As a paper crafter, I prefer the matte finish because it has the most durable and well textured finish for decoupage and sealing my paper projects. I prefer to use a sponge brush to apply this to my crafts. The glossy and satin formulas can leave sealed projects just ever so slightly tacky to the touch once completely dry. If I use the glossy or satin finish to coat, say, a decoupaged notebook - after letting the finish dry completely I could still stack finished notebooks to store them and they might stick together. So I wouldn't use those formulas for...

A Classic
What can I say? Mod Podge is the classic crafting glue, and it's easy to see why. It spreads evenly, dries quickly, and has great sticking power. This is very handy stuff to have around, and works for a wide variety of craft projects. It dries clear, so can be used as a sealant as well as glue.

Crafter's staple
I use Mod Podge on everything! I've been a crafty gal since I was little, and when I discovered Mod Podge it was all over. With every possible finish, the options are endless. I use the Matte finish when I'm doing collages on canvas. It doesn't stand out as much against the paint that way. If I want a finished effect, I'd use the glossy.

GREAT
Ok so maybe you can buy this at the AC Moore, Michael's, or maybe even JoAnn's but I bought it on Amazon. It was pretty awesome. You can use it for anything. I have used it on records, paper, cardboard, notebooks, photographs and much more. I just buy really cheap sponge brushes or paintbrushes and toss them when im done. not very environmentally friendly but I cant seem to figure out how to remove the glue, its so strong. You should definitely purchase this.

Great product
I bought this product a few months ago to use on a puzzle to hang up and it works wonderfully! All you need to do is buy a cheap brush to spread it on. It goes on somewhat white but dries clear and man, does it hold WELL! I would suggest having cardboard or something underneath so the glue doesn't get on furniture or tables you do not want to damage. You can buy this at places like Hobby Lobby but where I was living at the time did not have one nearby so I bought it off of Amazon. The bottle is a decent size and I was actually dissappointed because I bought it for $16 when it is now $11! I didn't really know what it sold for until I saw one in Hobby Lobby, this size, for about $9. I was upset the price was so high on Amazon! But now it is $11 and that is a much better deal than what I paid. It also shipped very fast. Overall, great product and it did what I needed it to do! I know other people use this product for much more than puzzles and I'm sure you could find many uses for it!

Where Can I buy Mod Podge

Some suggest making your own mod podge formula by mixing white glue and water - I'm not gutsy enough to try it, plus I used a coupon and bought a lifetime supply of Mod Podge.   A good quality paper will make all the difference in your mod podge projects.   You may remember last year when I posted about putting photographs onto canvas using Mod Podge.   As far as sealing the Mod Podge or sealing the picture for humid climates, I'm not sure.   A:  I use MATTE Mod Podge. )  I had a friend from Grace's gymnastics ask me to come into her husband's photography class a few weeks ago to demonstrate the project and I got really excited to gather and show the various projects that I have done.  The photo up on the mantle was an experiment with the MDF and I will replace it with a larger version when I find (or take) the right photo. I did not like the results of my canvas photos when I used the bumpy canvases.   It smoothes out nicer, doesn't crumble or bleed or deteriorate while you're smoothing it down on the sides of the canvas.   You know, like when they put the casserole in the oven and set the timer for it to cook while simultaneously pulling a finished bubbling dish from the oven below.   I can't get a good picture straight on of this wall because of major glare, but I've just mixed a bunch of random photos and frames and canvas.   The larger photo wall was my big project last December.   Finally, let the paper dry and most of the bubbles/bumps will likely smooth out.

In fact, if you have a new canvas, try sticking some papers or things on it.  To seal (there was still some sticky glue on the canvas), I gave it one good coat of mod podge to lock everything in.   Let it dry (may be overnight). I put my line of yellow paint where the gray paint ended (instead of on the opposite end of the canvas), and pulled it across in the same direction, so the left side of the canvas would have streaking with white canvas showing through.  On a paper plate, mix a small amount of dark color paint, I used black, with some mod podge. Use at least 4 x’s as much mod podge as dark paint. Step 3: Let one color dry, then do the same thing with a second color. Since this was going in our bedroom, and my favorite thing on the entire earth is curling up in bed on Sunday Morning with a book, coffee, a cat and a boyfriend, it was clear I could only write one thing,. Using a brush or foam brush, plop some of the “stain” on the canvas and then IMMEDIATELY wipe off/spread off with a paper. While I usually love bright colors, I liked the idea of toning down the colors in the bedroom to something a little softer, cozier, more relaxing.
